Our Family: Jack LaLonde
Monday, March 7, 2011 at 12:32AM "Our Family" will provide a brief story about each of the jumpers that frequent Skydive Palatka. Many pass through, and many call this home. With such a long history in skydiving, we would like to share with you those people that make this one of the best dropzones around!

Jack LaLonde, Jr.
Hometown: St. Augustine, FL
Family: A wonderful wife and a cat named Pepper
Profession: Glazier - Retired
Other Hobbies: Woodworking (mainly birdhouses) and Birdwatching
Number of Jumps: ~5300
Time in Sport: 43 years
Jack was persuaded by his brother to begin skydiving in 1968 in Indiantown, FL. He prefers formation skydiving and is happiest when jumping with at least 9 other people (10-way). Although he enjoys jumping with experienced jumpers in larger groups, 40-way is his limit. Jack is drawn to the camaraderie of Skydive Palatka and is characterized by others as an easy-going person that can frequently be found landing in the peas.
Jack candidly admitted to jumping naked and streaking the DZ many, many years ago. However, his current dream jump would be a 10-way round with the other people that started skydiving with him. Jack certainly is a staple of Skydive Palatka and we hope you get the privilege of jumping with him or just cracking a beer and some jokes at the end of the day.
